Due to the impact of COVID 19, we are now facing a devastating loss of funds. We urgently need to raise funds to keep our temporary accommodation Centre and critical support services running.
When the country went into lockdown on 25th March 2020, Casa Ioana realised that this would have a very real impact on the lives of women experiencing domestic abuse, their children and the dedicated specialist services supporting them.
There is a significant and worrying increase in domestic abuse due to the isolation and quarantine measures imposed to help combat the COVID-19 pandemic whilst these restrictions have also meant that many services offering accommodation and support are no longer able to.
There is a lot of uncertainty around the future of our events, fundraising activities, projects, training and the impact on our accommodation Centre. Without funds, we are at risk of not being able to deliver vital life-saving services and support to those who need it most, more now than ever, as victims are isolated alongside abusers.
We know that we can get through this, but we cannot do this without your help and support.
We are committed to supporting survivors, and we must be there for anyone impacted by abuse. Please help us continue to support those who need us most right now - by making a donation that will directly translate to hope and support for our clients who need us more than ever.

In 1997, Casa Ioana opened the country’s first night shelter, for people who had lost their homes, following a request by the Mayor of Bucharest. Since 2000 however, we have focused our attention on providing temporary accommodation and professional psychosocial support to women and children experiencing domestic violence and family homelessness.
New Beginning
Our ‘New Beginning’ project aims to empower survivors of domestic abuse by ensuring that they have the tools they need to leave an abusive relationship and to move on with their lives.
